Day 366

Another day draws to a close.

Today was a nice day, although extremely hot (for San Jose that is).  Rich and I went up to Aptos to look at a site for the wedding, unfortunately with no luck.  However, hiking around the apple orchard for 30 min was quite a workout, and my glutes are totally already feeling it.
Here's the rundown for today

Food: 1142 calories.  Ate fruits and veggies well today AND breakfast!  Woo hoo me!

Water:  between 50 and 60 oz.  Lost count when I started drinking the yummy Safeway flavored water.

Exercise: about 30 min of uneven dirt walking, or as Rich was calling it hiking.

Sleep:  Went to bed late again last night (Somehow I do my best packing/boxing up my stuff at night)  1:30 til about 9:30. Tonight should be better as I'm actually heading to bed before 12am!

Did some planks last night... and UGH.  Since I have ABSOLUTELY no abs, my whole body was shaking.  I only did a few minutes of it, but I guess every bit helps, and getting into a routine is the important thing.

Goals for tomorrow:
Get more exercise
Eat more calories (Fruits and veggies)
More time with the planks and "superman" position to work both back and abs.

Signing off!

367 days left

Sometimes things can be so frustrating.  And by things, I mean people.  And by people, I mean myself.  I start out pretty strong doing something like exercise/eating right/drinking water for a random example... and then I let something derail me.  I'm pretty upset with myself.  And I keep making the excuse that I am just starting and that I still have a year to get healthy.  ARGH!

Food:  Currently (and probably staying) 827 calories.  Stupid me didn't eat breakfast or lunch, and is probably why I have a headache right now.  Maybe I'll grab some cereal or something.  Made a good and healthy dinner though, and it was very easy.

Water: 28 oz.  I can bring that up a bit before sleep because I currently feel very thirsty.

Exercise: Blah!  Did a lot of packing and going up and down the attic stairs, so I put into the Loseit app that I did 30 min of housework.  Want to get credit for it, but don't want to over estimate.

Sleep:  Got into bed and was asleep by 1, but woke up with HORRIBLE allergies.  My nose was conveniently draining all over my pillow.  wonderful huh?!?  5am and can't breathe, so can't sleep.  Finally got back to sleep for about an hour then got woken up by a spider crawling on my arm.... yeah no sleep after that scream!  But at least tonight I am feeling more tired than I have felt in a while.

Goals for tomorrow:

Get to the store early and shop for food.  EAT BREAKFAST
EAT LUNCH
I will be walking around a possible wedding site with Rich tomorrow and there is a bit of a hike with it, so just have to plan for a little bit of extra exercise on top of that.
Start doing planks to work abs.

I think that is enough for now.

368.... and closer every day!

Time for bed you sleepy heads!

So fairly good day today.  Got breakfast in, though lunch and dinner kind of ran together
Food: 1431 calories.  Had some drinks, but some healthy food in the meantime.
Exercise:  Basically walking downtown, but was about 3/4 of a mile all together, so at least I walked.  Nothing really to be proud of, but there was a bit of exercise in.  Very hard when living the last few weeks at the Mathewson's to keep a regular schedule of eating or exercising as I am determined not to fight with the parentals, so I stay in my room or completely out of the house.

Water:  58 oz.   Not my best record, but staying up with drinking the water.

Sleep:  Last night slept from about 1 to 10.  Need to get up earlier!

Overall I'm ok with what's going on.  I've weighed myself but am refraining from posting as I know results will be more concrete at the end of the week, and I don't want to jinx it yet.  However, seems like things are going well.  I'm expecting a big drop off this week as with all weight loss, the first few weeks/months are MUCH easier because there is more to lose.  But still it will feel good when hopefully in a month I will be able to fit back into my smaller jeans.

7.12.2010

Today was quite a day.  Unfortunately some drama at home made eating like a good girl quite impossible.  So here are the facts kids.

Water:  Got in 48oz
Food: 805 calories.  Breakfast and Lunch were forgone because of said drama so my food consisted of a salad for dinner and Top Ramen for snack just a few minutes ago.  Not healthy, but clearly today wasn't a normal healthy day.
Exercise:  Only walked 12 minutes today, but did the same distance as Saturday but 4 minutes faster.  My shins were killing me and I got tired too quickly (probably from lack of food).

I think today I actually felt what it was like to be truly hungry.  Part of me thinks that maybe I've never been hungry before really, just craving something or peckish.  All in all I learned I don't do well on 1/2 my daily calories, and clearly I should never fast.

One day down, 370 to go part duex

Well so far so good.

Water: 20oz
Food:  Ate Breakfast!  Oatmeal at like 9, and still not starved... good change
No exercise yet, but am planning on walking at the Marina with Rich later.

UPDATE:
Water: 65oz!
Food: 1400 calories.  Big lunch like Rich suggested, and HUGE salad for dinner... and I'm not really craving food like I usually do at 11:30ish at night.  Big success I say!
Exercise: 2.32 miles with Rich.  Walked along the Marina trail.  Was a lot of fun with him, and I felt like I could go longer, but didn't think I should push it this early and burn myself out.
Sleep: Last night slept from 1:30 til about 7:30.  Bad dream about my puppy dog kept me from going back to sleep again, but am now tired and it is time for bed once again.

All in all, it was a good day

One day down, 370 to go.

Just got home from babysitting, so am logging for yesterday 7/10

Walked just over 3/4 of a mile (woo hoo!)  Rich came with me, so that helped having some motivation.

Water: 60oz.  Was in the bathroom a lot, but it is supposed to be worth it, so I hear.

Food:  Was low today on calories, mainly because when babysitting I don't have full control on my food intake.  Most of it was carbs at night, which isn't too balanced, gonna have to change that tomorrow.  Only had a little over 1k calories, which isn't healthy either.  Gotta get that up with good calories by at least 500 tomorrow.  Also didn't have breakfast... which I know is terrible as well!

Figured I should start logging my sleeping hours as well.  Last night (7/9-7/10) went to bed around 1:30 and was up at 9.

Goals for tomorrow:
Eat more calories
Eat breakfast
Keep water intake just as high
Walk for 20 min instead of 16
Get to bed earlier!

Wasn't too hard to be good today, but

371 Days

By the time that this blog posts, there will be only 371 days left until my wedding.  While most of the planning process is fun and exciting, one HUGE thing blocks my perfect wedding vision.  Who knew my ass could have gotten that big?!  Always the active teenager, I was healthy, fit and, dare I say it, hot! However, as the last 10 years have past, my appreciation for indulgent and delicious drinks have caught up with my now 28 year old metabolism.  I'm tired all the time, feel lazy and my body image is hiding in the closet, too scared to pass by a mirror.

So, what  to do, what to do?

I am planning on taking a hard look at where I am now, and where I want to be 371 days from now.  My goal is to exercise each day, each less and blog about my progress.

Here we go.

Day 1:
Measurements-
Weight: an embarrassing 208lbs.
(how was I skinnier when I ate fast food everyday and got the munchies constantly?)
BMI: 33.6 UGH... am I really obese? Puh-leeze
Chest: 45inches.  Probably the only measurement that wont make me wanna cry.
Waist: 38.5 inches
Hips: 47 inches
Butt: 49 inches
(on a side note... at least i'm sorta maintaining that "hourglass" figure.  My doctor friend tells me this is a good thing)
Arms: 15 inches
Thighs: 29.5 inches
Now that I am sufficiently horrified by what 10 years had done to my body (of course I have no responsibility in what happened....)

Exercise-
No exercise yet today... it is 12:30 in the morning.

Food-
Again, no food yet... it is early.  However here I'm gonna be keeping track of my water intake as well.
My goal here is to cut my calories to around 1800 a day.

OVERALL GOAL:

Lose 68 lbs in one year.  Might not be possible, and I would be thrilled with even 40!  I don't know how many inches I want to lose, but we'll have a start and then a finish.
